The Miracle of Lanciano

The Miracle of Lanciano, a documented Eucharistic miracle that took place in the 8th century, is a testament to the Catholic belief in the Real Presence of Jesus Christ in the Eucharist. In the year 700 AD, a skeptical priest in Lanciano, Italy, was offering Mass when he noticed that the bread used for the consecration had changed into actual flesh and blood. The miracle was witnessed by the entire congregation, and the elements have been carefully preserved and displayed in a church in Lanciano ever since.

John 6:47 - Very truly I tell you, the one who believes has eternal life. 48 I am the bread of life. 49 Your ancestors ate the manna in the wilderness, yet they died. 50 But here is the bread that comes down from heaven, which anyone may eat and not die. 51 I am the living bread that came down from heaven. Whoever eats this bread will live forever. This bread is my flesh, which I will give for the life of the world.”

Scientific studies have been performed on the elements, and they have been found to be human flesh and blood, consisting of heart muscle and blood types that match those of the wounds suffered by Jesus during his crucifixion. The fact that the flesh and blood have remained incorrupt for over 1,200 years is a further testament to the miracle and its authenticity.
