Levitating Eucharist

In November 7, 1999, during the priests blessing of the Eucharist at the Basilica of Lourdes, a Eucharistic miracle occurred. The Host, which had been placed on the paten, suddenly levitated and remained suspended in the air for several minutes. The incident was witnessed by numerous pilgrims and clergy present at the Basilica during the time of the miracle. In the days that followed, news of the miracle spread throughout the Catholic world, attracting visitors from all corners of the globe to the Basilica of Lourdes.

While the miracle was not scientifically documented or confirmed, the event is considered a beautiful representation of the true presence of Christ in the Eucharist. It serves as a reminder of the power and sanctity of this sacrament in the Catholic faith.

As believers, we are called to approach the Eucharist with faith and reverence, recognizing it as the body and blood of Christ. The miracle at the Basilica of Lourdes serves as a powerful testimony to this truth and a reminder of the miraculous nature of the Eucharist.

Whether you are a pilgrim visiting the Basilica of Lourdes or a believer partaking in the Eucharist at your local parish, let us always approach the sacrament with faith and gratitude for this incredible gift from God.

St. Thomas Aquinas once said, "The Eucharist is the sacrament of love; it signifies love, it produces love. The Eucharist is the consummation of the whole spiritual life."
